Ensure the stove is off and the stove top is cool.
Mix dish detergent and hot water in a bucket. Detach and remove all burner racks and drip pans from the stove. On electrical stoves, the burner racks are removed from the electrical panel under each burner area. Pull the burner rack gently to remove it. On gas stoves, the burners are not attached to the stove. The drip pans are located under the burner racks. Lift the drip pans off of the stove. Place the burner racks and drip pans in the dish detergent and hot water in the bucket.
Spray the stove top with no-heat oven cleaner. Allow the cleaner to remain on the stove top for at least 20 minutes.
Wearing rubber gloves, wipe off the oven cleaner from the stove top using one or several old rags or towels. Use a different rag whenever a rag becomes soiled with the oven cleaner and residue. After as much residue as possible is cleared, saturate a rag in the dish detergent and hot water mixture in the bucket. Remove any remaining residue off the stove top with the wet, soapy rag.
Check for additional burnt areas on the stove top. Lightly clean any remaining residue and burnt areas with a green scratchy pad. Wipe clean with a damp rag.
Remove the burner racks and drip pans from the bucket. Scrub the residue off those items with a rag or green scratchy pad. Rinse the items and allow them to dry. Reattach and replace the burner racks and drip pans on the stove top.
