Remove the reservoir tank and filter from the humidifier.
Pour 1 cup of plain white vinegar into the reservoir tank. Cap the tank and swish the vinegar around inside the tank. Set it aside for 20 minutes.
Rinse the filter in clean cool water.
Soak a paper towel in white vinegar. Wipe down the inside of the humidifier.
Dip an old toothbrush or soft brush in vinegar. Scrub calcium off any areas where it is sticking to the humidifier interior or parts.
Rinse the inside of the humidifier and the parts with clean water.
Remove the cap from the reservoir tank. Drain the vinegar, and add clean water. Rinse the inside of the tank.
Fill the reservoir and replace all parts to the humidifier.
