Roller Stopped Working on the Eureka Battery-Charged Vacuum

The Eureka battery-charged vacuum, referred to as the Quick-Up Cordless, has a brush roller that can be turned on for carpeted areas, and turned off for hard-floor areas. The vacuum is lightweight, and the handle can detach to clean other areas such as upholstery and cars. If the brush roller has stopped working, check several things to get it moving again.
  1. Charge

    • The vacuum is operated by a 6-volt battery charged by plugging it into an electrical outlet charger unit. Ensure the battery is completely charged before using the vacuum. The battery can wear over time. If the battery loses its charge quickly, purchase a replacement battery. The vacuum won’t operate properly if the battery is worn or old.

    Power

    • The brush roller operates by selecting the type of cleaning you wish to do. The power button has two options: floors or carpets. When turning the vacuum on, push the power button to “Carpets”, which is the last option on the power button. If the brush roller does not operate with the “Carpets” button selected, the brush roller is likely obstructed.

    Brush Roller

    • If you suspect the brush roller isn't rolling because it may be obstructed, check the brush roller for hair, string and other obstructions. Cut tangled obstructions out with scissors and remove other debris with your hand. Even dust and lint can affect the brush roller because it’s a small vacuum that runs on a small battery. Ensure the brush roller is clean and free from debris.

    Addtional Maintenance

    • General maintenance will allow the machine to function properly at full power. The filter should be emptied and cleaned frequently. After the filter is emptied and the dust is shaken out of it, wash it using a mild detergent and warm water. Wipe the outside of the machine with a lightly dampened rag to remove dust. After each use, recharge the battery to ensure it is fully charged for each use.
