What Replacement Belt Do I Need for a Bissell Powerforce Bagless?

Bissell offers a variety of vacuums, including the PowerForce Bagless. The PowerForce series include upright vacuums available in several bag and bagless models. The replacement belt fits all PowerForce bagless models and many other Bissell vacuums. The replacement belt is available from Bissell directly or from general merchandise stores that sell Bissell vacuums.
  1. Belt

    • The replacement belt is part number 203-1093, according to Bissell’s website. The belt fits a variety of Bissell vacuums including all PowerForce vacuums, PowerTrak Cyclonic, Momentum, PowerGlide, CleanView and Pet Hair Eraser.

    Specifications

    • The belt measures 1/2-by-5 1/2 inches and looks smaller than the belt currently on a PowerForce bagless. The belt is slightly stretched when it is installed on the vacuum and fits tightly on the brush roller and motor pulley. The PowerForce Bagless vacuum is a style 10 vacuum. When purchasing the belt, the packaging will refer to the style vacuum. Two belts are included in the packaging.

    Replacing the Belt

    • Place the vacuum flat on the floor with the bottom of it facing up. The brush roller will be visible in this position. Remove the base plate by removing four screws with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Remove the base plate, then lift the brush roller out of the vacuum. The belt will be attached to the brush roller if it’s not broken. Remove the old belt. Attach one end of the new belt to the motor pulley and wrap the other end of the belt around the brush roller. The belt is placed approximately 1 inch in on the left side of the brush roller. Secure the belt on the motor pulley and use your hand to pull the belt brush roller into the brush roller’s casing. Reassemble the base plate by screwing the four screws back in.

    Testing and Maintenance

    • After reassembling the base plate, turn the machine on and vacuum an area to ensure the belt is properly installed. Because the belt is attached to the brush roller, perform maintenance by cutting away string or any other obstructions from the brush roller and its casing. When the belt and brush roller perform properly, the motor won’t overwork and cause the machine to break down.
