How to Tune Up a Riccar Vacuum

Riccar manufactures a variety of vacuums and central vacuums, zone heaters and air purifiers. Riccar’s line of vacuum cleaners is equipped with indicator lights to alert you when parts require replacing to help the vacuum run its best. The vacuums also have a six-year limited warranty. To tune up a Riccar vacuum, you need to clean and maintain the filters, brush roller and hose.

Instructions

      Turn off the vacuum and unplug the cord from the electrical outlet.

      Remove the panel from the central part of the vacuum by pressing the release button. Remove the vacuum bag. Locate the charcoal filter on the left, inside the central part of the vacuum. Remove the filter.

      Use a damp rag to wipe away any dust and debris from inside the central part of the vacuum. Allow it to dry completely before continuing.

      Insert a new filter and a new vacuum bag. Reattach the panel onto the front of the central part of the vacuum.

      Turn the vacuum over with the machine base of the vacuum face-up to access the brush roller. Cut away and remove any string, hair or debris from the brush roller. Turn the vacuum over and stand it upright.

      Disconnect the stretch hose. Hold the hose straight with one hand. Insert the handle of a broom into the hose to remove any blockages. Reconnect the hose to the vacuum.

      Use a damp rag to wipe the outside of the vacuum. Remove any dust and debris from the canister and base.
