The hose is attached to the machine by the manufacturer. The tool caddy, which holds the hose and accessories, is attached to the machine after purchase. The upper handle is attached by pushing two screws on the front of the machine. The machine’s power cord is then pulled through a slot in the tool caddy and two hex nuts are attached to the two screws that hold the handle in place. The bottom of the tool caddy is secured by using a Phillips-head screwdriver to drive in two screws. When the tool caddy is assembled, the hose is wrapped around it on the handle.
To use the hose on furniture, fill the water and solution tank, similar to using the machine to clean carpets. Remove the hose and upholstery attachment from the machine. Set the “ready tools dial” – located on the side of the base of the machine – to “tools” or “pretreat.” The “pretreat” setting releases solution onto the upholstery without suction. Turn the dial to “tools” to clean the upholstery. The hose will not operate unless the dial is set to “tools.”
To ensure proper function of the hose and its accessories, detach and rinse the attachment tools in warm water after each use. Store the hose properly on the tool caddy to avoid damaging it.
Vacuum carpets and upholstery before using the PowerSteamer. The PowerSteamer removes stains and should not be used to pick up debris such as dirt and pet hair. If the nozzle, brushes and hose become clogged with debris, it affects the machine’s ability to function properly. Along with proper storage and cleaning of the hose and its tools, the water and solution tank should be emptied after each use. Rinse the tanks in warm water and allow them to dry before attaching them back on the machine. Clean the flow indicator filter after each use in warm water.
