How to Connect an Extraction Wand to a Cleaner

Professional carpet extractors have a base unit to hold and heat water and an extraction wand to distribute the extracted the water. Some manufacturers have specific extraction wands, and others use a standard wand universal to many carpet extractor brands. Ensure the wand is compatible with the carpet extractor before attempting to connect the extraction wand.

  Turn off the carpet extractor and unplug it from the electrical outlet.

  Attach the wand to the hose connected to the extractor. The wand will slide into the hose, much as a power wand is connected to a vacuum cleaner hose. Connect the extraction wand’s solution line(s) to the hose’s solution line connection. The solution line on the extraction wand will screw into the solution line on the hose.

  Plug the carpet extractor in and turn it on. Push the trigger on the wand to remove air from the solution line.
