How to Clean a Furnace Burner on a Trane Xe60

Like all gas furnaces, the Trane Xe60 needs yearly maintenance. Cleaning the burner is part of this maintenance, as dust, dirt and debris can clog the burner, and a clogged burner won’t heat your home effectively. The burner is the part of the furnace that ignites the gas and heats the air that in turn heats your home. Luckily, burner cleaning is simple enough for a layman to do.

Instructions

Turn off the Trane X360’s power and gas line. Open the furnace’s maintenance door.

    • 2

Locate the burner in the bottom of the furnace, where the gas lines end. Vacuum the area around the burner. Vacuum the burner itself with the brush attachment to remove any dust and dirt from the burner.
