The Differences Between an F5906-900 & a F5903-900 Hoover Steam Cleaner

Models

• The Hoover SteamVac comes in a variety of F-series and FU-series models, at time of publication. Approximately 10 F-5900 series are available. Each F-5900 has different functions for different cleaning needs, such as cleaning pet hair, cleaning larger areas and spray-jets to apply more cleaning solution for heavily soiled carpeted areas.

F5906-900

• The Hoover SteamVac F5906-900 is available for purchase from Hoover, at time of publication. A variety of parts and accessories are also available for purchase. Because newer, updated models are now in production, Hoover no longer manufactures the F5906-900. So the machine, parts and accessories will eventually not be available from Hoover. After Hoover discontinues a product, many Hoover authorized dealers sell the product and parts.

F5903-900

• The Hoover SteamVac F5903-900 is no longer sold by Hoover. But many authorized Hoover dealers sell replacement parts for the machine. Some parts are interchangeable among the F5900 models.

Difference

• The difference between the F5906-900 and F5903-900 is the piece referred to as the door, which connects the hose to the solution tank to clean upholstery and other fabrics. The part is connected similarly on both models and uses the same seal, spring and spring nut. The door was designed differently on some models, including the F5903-900, F5904-900 and F5912-900. The hood, which covers the base of the machine, was manufactured differently for six models of the F-5900 models. The functionality of these models is generally the same.
