Turn off the vacuum, and unplug it from the electrical outlet.
Turn the vacuum over so the brush roll is facing up and exposed. Remove the four screws on the base cover with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Remove the base cover. Set the base cover and screws aside.
Remove the larger motor pulley belt. If the belt is broken, the propeller will not rotate. Lift the brush roll out, and remove the belt attached to the brush roll and propeller. Set both belts and the brush roll aside. Have replacement belts available if the belts are broken or ripped.
Unscrew the nut that attaches the propeller to the base of the vacuum. Use a wrench to unscrew the nut if it can’t be unscrewed with your hand. Set the nut aside, and discard the broken propeller.
Put the new propeller in the slot that holds it to the vacuum. Screw the nut onto the propeller.
Attach one end of the brush roll belt to the brush roll. Wrap the other end of the brush roll belt around the propeller. Put the brush roll back into its casing. Attach one end of the motor pulley belt to the motor pulley and the other end of the belt on the propeller. The belt requires slightly stretching it to fit over the motor pulley and propeller. Roll the belt forward to position the belt on the propeller.
Position the base cover back onto the bottom of the vacuum. Screw the four screws onto the base cover with a Phillips-head screwdriver.
