How to Clean a Black Moenstone Kitchen Sink

Moenstone is a man-made simulated-stone material manufactured for the Moen company. Although it isn't real stone, it is designed to be durable, scratch resistant and easy to maintain. Moen recommends cleaning Moenstone using water and gentle cleansers for everyday water spots and debris. Black Moenstone kitchen sinks readily show staining on their surface, but all you need are common household cleaners to remove most of them.

Things You'll Need

  • Liquid detergent soap
  • Rag
  • Scrubbing sponge
  • White vinegar
  • Bleach

Instructions

    • 1

Rinse any food particles or debris from the sink with a stiff spray of water after each use. Wipe water droplets off the sink to avoid creating water spots.

    • 2

Clean water spots and light soil with a wet rag moistened with liquid detergent soap. Scrub in circular motions to clean. Rinse away all of the soap residue, then wipe the sink dry. If stubborn dirt, hard-water spots or other stains remain, move on to Step 3.

    • 3

Moisten a nylon scrubbing sponge with white vinegar and scrub the hard-water deposits and stains away. Rinse the sink clean and wipe it dry. If hard-water stains still remain, scrub a few more times. If there are still stubborn stains in the sink's bowl, move on to Step 4.

    • 4

Fill the sink with warm water. Add 1/2 cup of bleach to the water and leave it for 30 minutes. Drain the sink. Scrub the still-wet sink with the scrubbing sponge. Rinse away all bleach residue, then wipe the sink dry.
