Your Viking gas cooktop makes cooking easy, and one distinct feature of Viking cooktops is that the burners are sealed so spills can’t get into the burner box. This doesn’t mean that the grates will not get dirty, though. Food and liquid spills that accumulate on the grates can interfere with the cooking process. Wash the grates frequently to avoid buildup and make clean up easy.
Let the cooktop grates cool down completely before cleaning.
Wipe down the grates after each use with a damp sponge to remove light soil. Dry them thoroughly with a soft cloth.
Scrub the grates with a cloth and hot, soapy water if they require a more intense cleaning. Rinse well with a rag and clean water, and dry completely.
Remove stubborn stains and spills from the grates by scrubbing with a bleach-free soft scrub cleanser and an abrasive scrubbing pad. Rinse well with clean water and dry thoroughly.
If the grates are heavily soiled and still not coming clean, lay them outside on newspaper and spray them thoroughly with oven cleaner. Let them set for one to two hours, then rinse with water. Wash the grates well with warm, soapy water to remove the residue, then rinse and dry them well.
