How to Clean a KitchenAid Glass Cooktop

Your KitchenAid glass cooktop likely gets a lot of wear and tear through daily use. Spills, grease spatters and overflowing pots all leave behind a sticky residue. Luckily, your KitchenAid glass cooktop is easy to clean with a few common household items and a few special tools. With a little scrubbing, your cooktop will be sparkling again.

Things You'll Need

  • Soap
  • Water
  • Soft cloth or sponge
  • Paper towel
  • Cooktop polishing cream
  • Cooktop scraper

Instructions

  1. Small Food Spills and Spatters

      Wait until the stove is cool enough to touch but is still slightly warm. Dip a sponge in a mixture of soap and warm water.

      Scrub the spill until it washes away.

      Dry the stove top thoroughly.

    Dark Stains, Burnt-On Food, Metal Marks and Scratches

      Wait until the stove has cooled completely. Clean the area with a soapy sponge to remove as much food as possible.

      Rub the stain or scratch using polishing cream and a paper towel until it disappears.

      Polish the entire stove top with the polishing cream.

    Sugary Spills

      Wait until the stove is cool enough to touch but still warm. Use a cooktop scraper to gently scrape the spill off the cooktop.

      Let the stove cool completely.
