How to Clean a Rice Cooker Lid

Cooking rice in a rice cooker gives you confidence that it will come out just right every time. But you must clean your cooker frequently so it's always sanitized and ready for use when you need it. When cleaning the cooker, also clean the lid to minimize mold and other moisture-related issues that may arise from storing it dirty. You can clean the lid with just a few simple ingredients you can find around the house.

Things You'll Need

  • Cloth
  • Dishwashing liquid

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the unit from the wall socket. Never clean an object while it is plugged in to prevent the possibility of electrocution.

    • 2

Wipe the outer lid of the rice cooker with a damp cloth. There is no need to use detergent or other cleaners on the outer lid.

    • 3

Take out the inner lid according to the manufacturer’s directions, and clean it with dishwashing liquid and warm water. Rinse it thoroughly, and dry it before you put it away.
