How to Get Cooked on Grease Off of Stove Top

Your stove can be subject to some of the worst stains in the kitchen. This is especially true if grease gets cooked onto your stove top. You can remove cooked on grease by using ordinary household products. Getting the grease removed will take a little time and elbow grease, but the process will have your stove sparkling and shining once again.

Things You'll Need

  • Liquid dish soap
  • White vinegar
  • Spray bottle
  • Nonabrasive cleaning sponge
  • Baking soda
  • Cloths

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the burners and drip pans if you have this type of stove and the grease is burned onto these areas.

    • 2

Soak the burners and drip pans in hot, soapy water for 30 minutes before scrubbing with a non-abrasive scrubbing pad.

    • 3

Fill a clean spray bottle with white vinegar and saturate any grease that is dried onto the stove top in other areas or on a flat top stove. Let the vinegar soak in for 15 minutes.

    • 4

Sprinkle the grease stains with baking soda.

    • 5

Wet a non-abrasive sponge with white vinegar and use it to scrub the grease stains. The stains should come off after having been treated with vinegar and baking soda.

    • 6

Wipe down the stove top with a damp cloth, or sponge and dry it with a dish towel. Return burners and drip pans if necessary.
