When crayons accidentally dried in your dryer, the wax melted and created a difficult-to-remove mess. In addition, leaving the melted crayons stuck in the dryer may stain future items placed inside the machine. Melted crayons won't go away on their own, so you must physically remove them. All-purpose cleaners do little to budge the melted wax. Fortunately, an inexpensive household item can remove the crayons as well as any lingering residue from inside the dryer.
Apply water-displacing spray to a clean cloth and wipe the melted crayons. Add more spray to the cloth and continue wiping until you have removed the waxy residue.
Use a plastic paint scraper to scrape hardened crayon off the inside of the dryer. Wipe the residue off the dryer drum, using a clean cloth damp with water-displacing spray.
Wipe the water-displacing spray off the dryer drum, using a clean cloth dipped in cold water. Toss several damp cloths inside the dryer and tumble dry on low heat to finish cleaning the dryer.
