Stainless steel is a shiny surface that is commonly used on surfaces such as appliances, sinks and cookware. The composition of stainless steel is a mixture of elements such as iron, carbon and chromium, which makes this type of product strong and resistant to corrosion. If you have a cooktop that is made of stainless steel, you will need to clean it regularly. If you have burnt foods and liquids on your cooktop, you will need to use a cleaning process that is effective and yet safe for the stainless steel surface.
Spray the burnt stains with white vinegar and allow the vinegar to soak in for about 20 to 30 minutes.
Sprinkle a light coating of baking soda over the stain.
