How to Keep the Microwave From Getting Smelly

Microwaves heat food fast and during this process, moisture, along with food odors, condenses on the interior surfaces. This means microwaves can get smelly quickly with frequent use, especially when foods are strong smelling. Fish, popcorn and greasy foods count among foods that contribute to a smelly microwave. Any foods can make a microwave dirty, however, and therefore smelly. Keeping a microwave smelling fresh is mostly a matter of keeping it clean.
