How to Clean a Ceramic Stove Top With Burned on Food

It’s typically easy to clean spills off a ceramic stovetop, but burned-on food stains are bit more difficult than your average spill. In order to remove burned food residue from your ceramic stove top, you will need to use a method that is effective and yet gentle enough to protect the enamel of your stove.

Things You'll Need

  • Glass stovetop cleaner
  • Paper towels
  • Razor knife

Instructions

    • 1

Pour a quarter sized amount of stove top cleaner onto a folded paper towel.

    • 2

Rub the moistened paper towel over the burnt on food. Wait for 10 minutes as the cleaner soaks into the residue.

    • 3

Scrape the burnt residue away gently with a razor knife. Do not scratch the stovetop's surface with the knife.

    • 4

Wipe off the stovetop cleaner with a folded paper towel.

    • 5

Reapply the cleaner to the entire stovetop.

    • 6

Wipe off the cleaner using another clean paper towel. Use circular motions to clean and polish the stovetop.
