How to Disable Smoke Detector Chirps

Smoke detectors are designed with a safety mechanism that causes the detector to chirp whenever the battery is running low. This was included to prevent any instance of a smoke detector not sounding during a fire or excessive smoke due to a dead battery. Replacement of the battery is a very simple fix and can save you a lot of heartache that can be caused by a fire that builds without any warning. Check your smoke detector regularly to make sure it is working properly.
