How to Change the Batteries on an ADT Wireless Smoke Detector

An ADT-brand wireless smoke detector functions independently to detect smoke that might be dangerous to the inhabitants of a home. The smoke detector communicates with the rest of the wireless alarm system using a built-in wireless network that doesn't rely on a computer. The detector has batteries to power it in case an electrical power failure in the house occurs, but it is vulnerable to working erratically should the batteries run low on power. Changing the batteries in the smoke detector will keep it functioning optimally.
