First Alert is a brand of security systems for homes and businesses. It also produces smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, cameras, safes, doors and other home security products. If you own a First Alert alarm system, you need to know how to delete, program or reprogram your security codes.
Create a new code by typing the master code you originally created with your installer into the keypad and pressing "Code." Input a one-digit user number (from 2 to 7) that will be assigned to the new code, then enter the new four-digit code for that user. After you enter the code correctly, you will hear a beep from your keypad.
Delete a code by entering the master code, pressing the "Code" button and then pressing the number corresponding to the code to be deleted. Wait a moment for a single beep from your keypad, which signals the code has been deleted.
Change a code by first deleting the existing code, then creating a new one. Put in the same single-digit user number when deleting and creating this new code.
Program your duress code by inputting your master code, pressing the "8" key twice, then put in your desired four-number duress code. Your keypad will beep one time.
Change your master code by first entering it with the keypad. Press "8," then "1," enter a new four-digit master code, and finally enter the new Master code again. You will hear one beep from your keypad.
