How to Open Safe Combination Locks

Combination locks provide security for your valuables. With the thousands of possible combination choices, it is very difficult for someone to guess a particular combination. Opening safe combination locks is done using one single methodology, but with varying numbers or letters. You can do it if you have the combination, a fairly steady hand and some concentration.

Instructions

    • 1

Line up the 0 on the combination dial with the notch line on the safe. The 0 should exactly line up with the notch line.

    • 2

Rotate the dial on the safe counterclockwise three times, until the first number in your combination reaches the notch line on the third full rotation of the dial. You will move the dial until the first number passes the notch line twice. Then, stop the dial so the number is exactly on the line.

    • 3

Turn the dial clockwise twice to reach the second number in your combination. You will move the dial until it passes the second number in the combination one time; land the second number on the notch line on the second full rotation.

    • 4

Move the dial counterclockwise directly to the last number in your combination. This time, you will not pass the number at all. Instead, land on the number directly.

    • 5

Pull the handle on the safe downward and pull the door of the safe open.
