How to Open a Four-Digit Combination Lock

A combination lock is a simple and effective way to keep items secure in a locker or other kind of security lock box. While most combinations are only three digits long, there are a few combination locks that have four digits to make it harder for them to be broken into. To open the lock, you need to know all four digits in order. For the sake of this article, we will be working with a lock that has the combination 4-10-38-40.
