How to Use a Presto Fry Daddy as a Slow Cooker

A Presto Fry Daddy allows you to make deep-fried foods like breaded mushrooms, fish and french fries. However, you can also use a Fry Daddy like a crock pot. Using a Presto Fry Daddy like a crock pot takes a little getting used to, as some models don't feature temperature gauges, but it allows you to make use of one item for a multitude of kitchen uses.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug the Presto Fry Daddy into an outlet on your kitchen counter.

    • 2

Fill the Fry Daddy about 3/4 of the way full, depending on the amount of ingredients you wish to cook. For example, a 2-pound pot roast in addition to 2 cups of chopped onions and carrots only requires 2 qt. water.

    • 3

Add your ingredients after the desired amount of water is added to the Fry Daddy.

    • 4

Cover the Fry Daddy and adjust the temperature setting to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. If your Fry Daddy doesn't have numbers on its dial, adjust it to be in the middle between the high setting and off.

    • 5

Stir your ingredients frequently to avoid scorching, and lower the Fry Daddy temperature as needed to cook the food properly. This allows you to use the Fry Daddy as a crock pot or slow cooker instead of a deep fryer.
