How to Change the Battery in an American Eagle AE22 Safe

The American Eagle 22 is a gun safe manufactured by Cannon Safe. It can hold up to 24 guns and weighs 525 pounds. The AE22 is certified to withstand fire up to 1200 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes. It has a one inch-thick steel composite door with an electronic lock. When the battery in the lock is low it will beep repeatedly when you unlock it, indicating that it needs to be replaced.

     Remove the tape with the red tab on the bottom of the face plate.

     Locate the trap door and push it up and slightly forward. The battery tray will drop down.

   • 3

     Remove the dead battery and attach the new 9 Volt battery.

   • 4

     Slide the battery back into the opening and replace the trap door.
