How to Change the Battery on a Sentry Safe

Sentry safes are built to protect user's important belongings from theft or fire damage. These safes can be used to contain items such as documents, money, jewelery or firearms. The Sentry Safe may be operated in one of two ways: with a combination lock or with the electronic lock. The electronic lock may be useful if you forget the combination to the safe, as the combination cannot be changed. After a long period of use, the batteries in the electronic lock may lose power. You can change them by removing the lock case on the front of the safe.

     Unscrew the screw at the base of the lock case. Turn the lock case to the right, clockwise, from a 12 o'clock position to a two o'clock position.

     Remove the case. Insert four AA batteries into the panel.

     Replace the lock case. Turn the case to the left, to the 12 o'clock position. This locks the case in place.
