How to Set a Brinks Digital Lock

Keeping your property secure requires not only a strong safe, but also a strong lock. The Brinks safe line, including the Honeywell and Protector safes made by Sisco Products, provides the strong locks that you need, coupled with simple opening mechanisms that remain difficult to foil by intrusive means. To use them correctly, however, you'll need to set the combination for the lock, changing from the factory preset to one of your own.

Enter the factory preset code, provided you by the Brinks company, into the safe. Wait for the green LED on the keypad above the numbers to light up and then open the door of the safe within five seconds. If the red LED lights, you have entered the wrong code. Try again until you receive the green LED indicator light.

Press the red memory button located on the inside of the safe door to the left of the lock cover. Listen for two beeps from the keypad and watch for the yellow LED light to turn on. This indicates the safe is ready for you to enter your custom safe code.

Enter your custom passcode, consisting of three to eight numbers, into the keypad. Press the "B" key on the keypad to set the code. The keypad will beep twice and the yellow LED will light again to indicate the acceptance of your new code.

Push the handle of the safe down against the safe door with the door still open to put the safe into a lock position. Test the new code by entering it into the keypad, followed by the letter "A." Pull the handle away from the safe door to open. If the handle fails to move, try to set the new code again, beginning by pressing the red memory button. If the door opens, write down the code and store it in a safe place.
