How to Open a Liberty Brand Safe

Liberty is an American safe manufacturer headquartered in Payson, Utah. The company makes a range of different strongboxes and vaults, some of which are built to resemble old-style safes with rotating handles and dials. You might want to open your Liberty safe to access your valuables. Opening a Liberty safe with the correct combination is designed to be as straightforward and secure as possible. Allow roughly five minutes for this task.

Instructions

  1. Open "Old-Style" Liberty Safes

      Rotate the dial counterclockwise through four full turns. Stop at the 1st number of your combination.

      Turn the dial clockwise past the second number of your combination twice. Stop on it the third time.

      Rotate the dial counterclockwise past the third number of your combination once. Stop on it the second time.

      Turn the dial clockwise until it stops. This usually happens around number "87." Keep turning through any resistance until the dial stops completely.

      Rotate the safe handle to retract the bolts. You can now pull open the safe.

      Discharge any static electricity by touching the body of the safe. Position the safe handle between the left and right stop points.

      Enter your six-digit safe combination using the number buttons. The safe will beep and flash an LED after each key press.

      Press the "#" button. You will hear the lock retract. Turn the handle and open the safe within six seconds.

      Discharge any static electricity by touching the body of the safe. Position the safe handle between the left and right stop points.

      Turn the keypad counterclockwise to the "Stop" position.

      Enter your six-digit safe combination using the number buttons.

      Press the "#" button.

    • 13

      Turn the keypad clockwise through roughly 70 degrees until it stops. This must be done within six seconds of pressing "#."

      Turn the safe handle, and pull open the door.
