How to Reset a Brink's 5112D Safe

The Brink's company was founded in 1859 by Perry and Fidelia Brink, and has since become a trusted name in security. Brink's started out delivering valuable goods to places like banks but now has a partnership with Honeywell, who produces safes. One such safe is the 5112D model, which is electric and compact enough to fit in a small closet, yet large enough to hold important documents or smaller valuables like jewelry.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the safe using the current code on the keypad. The code should have a series of three to eight numbers followed by the "A" button.

    • 2

Locate the small red button on the inside wall of the safe door. Press and hold the button for one second. The safe will beep twice and the yellow LED will light above the keypad.

    • 3

Punch in the desired code and press the "B" button to confirm the changes. The code must have between three and eight letters. When you've done this, the safe will beep twice and the yellow LED will light again.

    • 4

Test the new code before closing the safe door. The code is still able to operate the lock even if the door is open.
