How to Rekey a Sentry 1100

The SentrySafe Fire Chest 1100 is a popular personal safe with a privacy key lock. The safe can protect personal items, including CDs, DVDs, USB drives and memory sticks for half an hour in temperatures of up to 1,550 degrees Fahrenheit. The safe cannot be rekeyed without the aid of a locksmith, but if you lose your keys you can contact Sentry online or by mail to order replacement keys.

Instructions

  Locate the lock reference number. It will be a number or a letter and number, engraved on the cylinder of the lock.

  Contact Sentry to order a new key. If you are going to pay using a credit card you can order online at www.sentrysafe.com or by phone (Visa/MasterCard only) by calling 800-828-1438. Standard shipping takes 21 days, but you can pay extra for express delivery within 48 hours (two business days) to anywhere in the continental United States.

  Provide Sentry with the lock reference code and your return mailing address. The return mailing address is where your new keys will be sent. Express orders must include a street address; a postal box is not acceptable.

  Pay Sentry for the replacement keys using a credit card, check or money order. The cost as of March 2011 is $12 for standard delivery or $25 for express delivery.

  Mail your order to Sentry along with your check or money order. Express key
