How to Reprogram the Password on Biometric Safe

Instead of a PIN code or password, biometric safes require users to identify themselves using one of the human biometric features. Such features include fingerprints, facial scans, voice analysis or iris scans. Brands of biometric safes differ in the way they allow users to reprogram the machine.

Instructions

    • 1

Read the user's manual for your safe and find out which users are allowed to reprogram the safe. Some safes allow every authorized user to reprogram, while others limit that function to users with administrator privileges.

    • 2

Perform the authentication required for your safe. Since this is a biometric safe, this step will require you to scan a certain part of your body. Certain safes also require a password or PIN code, in addition to the biometric scan.

    • 3

Follow the procedure outlined in your user's manual to access the reprogramming functions. Most safes will ask that you press a certain button which is usually located inside the safe itself, on the back of the front door.

    • 4

Add or delete users who can be granted access to the safe.
