How to Get Replacement Keys for a Sentry Safe

SentrySafe manufactures a wide variety of safe products including chests, file safes, personal, home and home/office safes, security safes, gun safes, gun cabinets and commercial safes. Besides key-only locks, some Sentry combination and electronic safes also use keys as a secondary locking mechanism. As people often lose or misplace keys, Sentry provides customers several methods of getting replacement keys -- you can order online, via telephone or through the mail, depending on your safe model or the lock type.

  1. Online Order

      Go to the SentrySafe Replacement Keys website.

      Highlight the image that best matches your safe and review the information in the red block that pops open to determine if you can order the keys online. As of March 2011, you can order keys online for chests, file safes and certain personal, home and home/office safes with model numbers that begin with A3, A4, A5, CS, CSW, DA, DS, I0, I3, I4, I5, J3, J4, J5, KS, L0, L3, MS, MSW, OA, OS, S0, S3, S4, S5 or SD. If Sentry requires that you mail in a request, go to the "Mail Order" section of this article.

      Click on the "Select a Key" field and select a delivery option from the drop-down menu. Click on "Select Quantity" and select a quantity.

      Enter the model number, and lock and serial numbers if required, in the fields. Click "Order Online." Confirm that the delivery and quantity are correct and then click "Check Out."

      Fill in the billing address. Click "Continue Checkout." Confirm the information, enter your Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express credit card data and then click "Checkout" to complete your order.

      Wait for the keys to arrive based on the estimated delivery time frame -- approximately five to 15 days standard delivery; 48 business hours express delivery.

    Telephone Order

      Call Sentry Group if want to order the keys through a customer care agent and you're not required to mail in a request.

      Provide the agent with you safe model number, and lock or serial number if available. Advise the agent of the number of keys that you need. Pay for the order with a credit card.

      Wait for the keys to arrive -- approximately five to 15 days standard delivery; 48 business hours express.

    Mail Order

      Follow the red box instructions to get the required safe information. For example, as of March 2011, you need the model and serial numbers for security safes with model numbers beginning with V or D, gun safes beginning with P, T, G or R and model S6370, S6520, S6770, S7371, S7771, S8371 or S7771 commercial safes, but for gun cabinets you need the number engraved on the lock cylinder.

      Write a letter that states that you're the safe owner and need replacement keys. Include the required safe information in the letter. Hire a notary public or bank official to witness the letter.

      Go to the SentrySafe Replacement Keys website and click "Select a Key" to review delivery options.

      Mail the letter and a check to Sentry Group for the dollar amount listed beside the delivery option that you want. If you chose express delivery, write "Special Express Key Order" on the envelope. If you want to pay with a credit card, mail the letter and call Sentry.
