Instructions

  1. Opening the LaGard Digital Lock

    • 1

Enter the digits 1-2-3-4-5-6. This is the factory preset code and will open the safe for the first time.

    • 2

Listen for the double signal which confirms the valid entry combination.

    • 3

Turn the handle into the open position within 4 seconds and open the door.

    Changing the combination

    • 4

Open the lock and door. When the door is open, turn the handle so the door will not shut completely. You need to know the existing combination before you begin.

    • 5

Enter the digit 0 six times.

    • 6

      Enter the current combination.

    • 7

Enter the new combination, pause briefly and enter the new combination again. A double signal sounds after entering the correct combination. A triple signal sounds if the old combination is still in place.

    • 8

Test the lock by turning the locking handle while the door is open.

    Changing the battery

    • 9

Slide the keypad housing up and carefully lift the housing away from the door. You will know it is time to change the battery when there is repeated LED flashing and beeping when opening the lock.

    • 10

Turn the housing over to expose the 9-volt battery.

    • 11

Pull the battery out and disconnect the battery from the terminal.

    • 12

Connect the new battery with the terminal and replace it into the housing.

    • 13

Slide the housing back onto the extending screws in the door. Be careful that all wires are inside the housing.
