How to Obtain the Combination of a Master Combination Lock

Businesses, homeowners, students and travelers use locks to protect and secure their possessions. Master Lock is one of the most commonly used locks. The Master Lock company was established in 1921 and specializes in manufacturing key and combination locks. Master Lock combination locks are opened using a 3-digit number. If you forget or lose the combination, you can get it directly from Master Lock. Although Master Lock no longer furnishes lost combinations to customers via email, fax or phone, the company does offer another method for retrieving your combination.

Instructions

    • 1

Download the "Lost Combination Form." The form is located on the Master Lock website (masterlock.com).

Fill out the form. Take the form to a notary public. Many local libraries offer free notary services. Show the notary a valid form of identification such as your driver's license. Sign the form in the presence of the notary. The notary will sign, date and stamp the form.

Get a photocopy of your lock's serial number. The serial number is located on the back case of the lock. The lock must not be attached to anything such as a locker or cabinet. Make sure you write the serial number on the photocopy as well.
