Digital safes afford a lot of protection for your valuables; however, leaving the combination unchanged throughout the life of the safe makes it easier to break into. A thief could easily obtain parts of a combination by eavesdropping or even by examining fingerprints on a digital keypad. This is why it's a good idea to change the combination at least twice a year. Fortunately, "Brinks" safes, which are now sold under the "First Alert" name, allow you to change their combinations.
