How to Change the Combination on a BF1716 American Security Safe

The BF1716 American Security safe is designed to protect its contents from both burglars and fire. The heavy-duty safe uses a multiple-bolt system controlled by the AMSEC ESL 10 electronic lock to prevent unauthorized entry. The lock is powered by two 9-volt alkaline batteries. Changing the current combination to the safe to a new one is easy and quick.

     Open the safe door and keep it open during the entire change-over procedure.

     Press "C" on the combination number pad, then enter the current combination. Press "#."

   • 3

     Enter the new combination. Press "#."

   • 4

     Enter the new combination again. Press "#." The two entries must match or you'll need to start over.

     Test the combination before closing the door, to ensure it works.
