How to Set The Code on a Stanley Garage Door

Setting the code on your Stanley garage door is an extremely important step in protecting you and your family from possible intruders. The code ensures that only those with intended access can get in and out of the house without a key. To some, the prospect of setting and memorizing a code may seem like a difficult task. However, with proper instruction, it is actually quite easy.

Press the key that reads "Access Learn" twice. The red indicator light will blink twice each time the button is pressed and will remain illuminated after the key has been pressed the second time.

Enter the Stanley factory set code of 1-2-3-4. If you are trying to reprogram the garage door after a previous code was installed, simply enter the existing code.

    • 3

Enter the new access code that you have selected. Select a code that you can easily remember but will not be obvious to someone trying to break into your home.

Press the "Access Learn" button one more time. Pressing this button deletes the old code and sets your new access code. Allow the lights to stop flashing, and then enter your new code to see if it is working properly.
