How to Remove a Zone From a Alarm System

Bypassing a zone in your alarm system allows free movement of people within your home. You can keep the system armed while people enter and leave certain areas. An example of this maneuver would be at a home with a rear yard; doors to the yard could be bypassed, leaving the front door and front windows armed while your family moves freely from the home to the back yard.

Instructions

    • 1

      Disarm the system.

    • 2

Enter the User Settings menu. Press "Next" twice until "User Settings" shows on the display. Press "Show/OK" and enter your master code. "Set Bypass" will appear on the display.

    • 3

Press "Show/OK" and the number, state and name of the first zone will appear. The display will alternate. An example would be alternating between "Z01: OPEN" and "KITCHEN DOOR" You can tell from this message that the kitchen door in Zone 1 is open and not secured. Other messages are that the door is already bypassed or that the door is functional.
