How to Monitor an Alarm System

Alarm systems gather data from various sensors that are strategically located around the perimeter of the home. The system can gather a wide range of data. The data can pertain to events, which can include calls for help, burglary, fires, tampering with the sensors and trouble---which can include low battery warnings and phone line problems. Events are automatically reported to central monitoring stations via the phone line. You can also monitor these events yourself with a cell phone or pager.
