How to Change an ADT Sensor Battery

ADT remote sensor batteries are either 9-volt alkaline or 3-volt lithium. They are relatively easy to change, as the covers simply snap off to expose the batteries. Batteries should always be replaced with the same type that was removed.

Instructions

    • 1

Unsnap the cover from the remote sensor by pulling it away from the sensor body. You may need to squeeze the edges to pop the cover loose.

    • 2

Remove the old battery. If it is a 9-volt, you need to unsnap the harness. If it is a 3-volt lithium, just pop it out.

    • 3

      Install the new battery.

    • 4

Replace the cover by snapping it back into place.
