How to Program a Genie Intellicode Wireless Keypad

The Genie Intellicode garage door opener is powered by a state-of-the-art technology that helps keep homeowners safe. Each time you open the garage door with the remote control, the Intellicode opener changes the access code to one of 4.3 billion possible combinations to help keep unauthorized people from capturing the access code and getting into your house. To choose a new PIN for your Intellicode garage door opener, you must program the keypad so it will recognize the new PIN.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Genie Intellicode keypad cover halfway. Press the "PROG" and "8" buttons simultaneously, and hold them down while you open the keypad cover the rest of the way. The indicator light should blink once, alerting you that your wireless keypad is ready to be programmed.

    • 2

Keep the cover open, and enter "3," "5" and "7" on the keypad. Press the "PROG" button, and watch for the blink once per second.

    • 3

Enter the PIN you want to use (up to eight digits) and press the "PROG" button. Watch for the indicator light to blink twice per second. Close the keypad cover.

    • 4

Press the "Learn Code" button once. This should be on the rear panel or under the light cover--depending on the model of your keypad. Watch for the Learn Code light to flash.

    • 5

Open the keypad cover all the way, and enter your PIN number.

    • 6

Press the "Send" button four or more times, until you see the garage door open. Your Genie Intellicode wireless keypad is now ready to use.
