While using a drill to install an alarm, you will need to use either a paddle bit, or a bell hanger bit. Paddle bits are ideally suited for drilling in wood. A paddle bit has a self pilot tip at the end of the bit. A bell hanger drill bit, also known as "installer" bit, is used for pulling wires through drilled holes for installation.
While installing an alarm system, you will most likely need to use a double-sided stick tape. Preferably, you should look for a stick tape that has aggressive pressure and permanent adhesion on both the sides. The right type of stick tape can be used as a substitute to mechanical fasteners.
Grounding clamps are necessary to use while working with alarm equipment. You can use brass clamps with stainless steel bolts. The grounding clamps can be used in conjunction with protective grounding components like cable ferrules.
Dry and Silicone filled "B" connectors are also required while installing alarms. "B" connectors have two flat parallel blades with a U-shaped grounding prong. The connector is rated for 15 amperes at 125 volts.
A magnetic retrieving tool can extend your view so you can easily reach nuts, screws, bolts, tools and other things installed in inaccessible places. Usually magnetic retrieving tools have LED mounted in the magnets with 5 lb magnetic pull.
