How to Reset a Brinks Alarm

The Brinks Company has a long history of providing security and protection. In 2008, Brinks Home Security became Broadview Security. The security services (including monitoring, customer service and billing) all remained the same but business was conducted under the new name and the new logo. If you have a Brinks Alarm system, it is critical that you know how to reset the system after an alarm triggers. You may not be able to arm the system until you reset it.

Instructions

    • 1

Shut all doors and windows that have been installed with sensors or glass-break detectors. A Broadview security system uses components familiar with other security systems: door and window sensors. If the door is open, the sensor cannot reset itself.

    • 2

Prevent any pets or persons from moving in front of the motion sensors installed in your home. Motion sensors are triggered if something moves in their vicinity. Quarantine any pets and tell people to stay out of rooms with motion sensors. Press the "Motion Off" button on the alarm pad to deactivate the motion sensors.

    • 3

Enter your code number into the alarm pad. The code number is typically a three- or four-digit number. To deactivate your system, enter the code number. With all the sensors off and any doors and windows with installed sensors shut, inputting your code should reset the system.
