Instructions

    • 1

Place the 1.5-volt battery on the left side of the 4-inch by 12-inch piece of wood and secure it with the electrical tape.

    • 2

Place the 1.5-volt buzzer on the right side of the 4-inch by 12-inch piece of wood. Secure the buzzer to the wood with a piece of electrical tape.

    • 3

Cut two 12-inch lengths of electrical wire with the utility knife. Remove two inches of the insulation from one end of both wires, using wire strippers or a utility knife. Remove a half-inch from the other end of the wires.

    • 4

Wrap the two-inch uninsulated end of one of the wires around the top tip of the wooden clothespin. Wrap the two-inch uninsulated end of the other wire around the bottom tip of the wooden clothespin. This will be the switch for the alarm.

    • 5

Open the wooden clothes pin and place a small piece of cardboard between the tip.

    • 6

Connect the half-inch end of one of the wires to one end of the battery. Place a piece of electrical tape to keep the wire attached to the battery.

    • 7

Twist together the half-inch end of the other wire to the one of the electrical wires on the mini-buzzer. Place a piece of electrical tape over the twisted wires.

    • 8

Connect the other electrical wire from the buzzer to the other end of the battery. Attach the wire with the electrical tape.

    • 9

Open the wooden clothespin and remove the cardboard. Close the clothespin to test the alarm. Listen for the the buzzer to make a sound. Place the piece of cardboard back into the clothespin.

    • 10

Apply a small amount of wood glue to the bottom of the wooden clothespin. Place the clothespin on an edge of the 4-inch by 12-inch piece of wood. The glue will dry in about 12 hours.
