DIY Security Cam

You don't need to hire a professional or buy a pricey, high-tech security camera to protect your home or office. Install a wireless security camera instead. You can do it yourself in a short amount of time. Mount a wireless security camera around your home with a few screws and mounting hardware. The camera runs on batteries, so you don't have to run cables. Wireless security cameras are relatively cheap, usually costing less than $100, and they provide surveillance, day and night.

Purchase your wireless security camera. There are many brands available with different features and capabilities; so, consider your security needs and spending budget.

    • 2

Plan the setup of the security camera. Choose an indoor or outdoor location for your new wireless security camera. Locate it in a position that captures images of all who might enter the area. The camera should also be in an area where it is highly visible.

Remove your wireless security camera from the box. Take out the owner's manual and all required supplies. Insert the batteries. A wireless security system does not need wiring. The system uses radio waves instead of wires and interfaces with your VCR or TV.
