Check the sensors. Sensors can be very small, and the slightest change could cause them to send false signals. For example, thermal sensors can give false alarms if the temperature changes quickly. Sensitive motion sensors also may detect movement of your pets.
Check whether the battery is operating. Many home-security companies can notify homeowners when batteries are low. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for changing the batteries on your particular model. If you use a hard-wired burglar alarm, make sure the wires are connected correctly (turn the power off before you do this). Also make sure that your siren is connected to some type of power source if you cannot hear the siren alarm.
Check whether the main control panel is connected to a power source. Also check the operation buttons of your control panels by pressing the buttons. If the system does not arm or disarm when you punch the corresponding buttons, contact your alarm company.
