Protect America offers state-of-the-art security for homeowners and provides 24-hour nationwide support. The company offers five packages, depending on the size of a home and level of protection necessary. The differences in the packages are the amount of entry-point detectors offered, which range from three to 15. The fee for the equipment is free and includes a stalking control panel, door chime, one-button alarming and an internal siren. The equipment has a lifetime warranty, and the monthly cost of each package ranges from $30 for the Copper Package, to $42 for the Platinum package, as of November 2010.
ADT offers both security protection and fire-detection alerts to homeowners. The equipment includes a wireless touchpad, motion detector, wireless keychain and three entry-point detectors. Homeowners also have the option of having video surveillance equipment in order to personally monitor areas of the home. As of 2010, the initial equipment and installation cost of ADT is $99 after mail-in rebate, and the monthly charge is $43 per month.
Life Shield Security offers the latest in security technology and has a wide selection of wireless monitoring equipment. The security package includes a keychain remote, eight point-of-entry sensors and two keypads. Homeowners are able to install the packages on their own and then contact Life Shield Security for activation. The initial cost of Life Shield Security is $300 and the monthly payments are $30, as of November 2010. While other security kits require homeowners to purchase a two to three year contract, Life Shield Security offsets its high initial cost with a pay as you go plan, and the homeowner can cancel at any time without penalty.
