How to Convert an X10 Floodcam

The X10 FloodCam is designed to activate a video camera automatically when motion is detected in the area it is situated. You can convert the FloodCam so that the video camera is always on. The procedure involves adjusting a hidden control panel on the FloodCam. No special tools are needed.

  • Flat-edged jeweler's screwdriver

Instructions

      Stand a ladder next to the wall where the FloodCam is located. Insert the tip of the flat-edged jeweler's screwdriver into the seam between the bottom panel and the FloodCam's case. Lift the tip of the screwdriver to loosen the bottom panel. Pull the bottom panel off the FloodCam.

      Slide the "Camera Mode" switch from "Auto" to "Manual."

      Rotate the "Unit Code" wheel until the notch reaches the number "9"; if the X10 transmitter is set to "9," then use a different number.

      Rotate the "House Code" wheel in the same fashion as was just done with "Unit Code."

      Place the bottom panel back on the FloodCam. Push up on the panel to align and lock the panel and case back together. Put the ladder away.
