Decide if you want to permanently remove the alarm or disable the alarm for a temporary period. Several alarm motion detectors have settings that allow you to simply turn off the alarm, if you are staying home so that the motion detector will not operate.

Call your security provider and ask for a technician to remove the motion sensor. Chances are, that you are experiencing a technical issue anyway. Unfortunately this is the only way that an alarm can be removed because of security system codes. These codes are unique to each system and provided by the security company to ensure your safety.

Remove the batteries. If the alarm motion detector is constantly going off without reason, you may need to remove its energy source. Batteries are located inside the unit, so depending on the installation, you need to dismount the security box and remove the back cover to find the batteries.

Uninstall the alarm motion detector. The unit must be unscrewed with a flathead or other screwdriver. You may need to alert your security provider before uninstalling the motion detector so you do not set off a security breach alarm and receive a visit from police.
